Capturing an image or screen capture, known as a screenshot, is a useful activity for documenting the screen display. However, if you have to manually open it every time you want to capture a screen, it is impractical and can sometimes be boring.

In this tutorial, I will provide some tips on how to change the function of the print screen button on the keyboard to use it as a button for taking screenshots in Kubuntu. Unlike Windows, which typically uses the Lightshot application, in Kubuntu, we will use software called Deepin Screenshot. First, you need to download the Deepin software. Here are the steps to set it up:

  • Begin by opening the terminal and typing the command "kmenuedit." Next, navigate to the Graphics section - Deepin Screenshot - Advanced.
  • In the "Current Shortcut" section, press the print screen button on the keyboard.

Not only can you modify screenshot software settings, but you can also customize all keyboard buttons according to your preferences to quickly open applications without the need to manually open them.
